Just uninstall everything, and you will be fine. My HD is 100gig so the partitions don't really matter to me, I'm leaving them.
Same 100gig Fujitsu HD for me. Here are my results. I don't care about the results, 9300 is for my wife, and is strictly for her business. Edit: The model # you see here is a 4200 RPM version.
I cpoied the Dell folder to another computer and burned it from there. I have one other computer (in addition to my 9300) so I can burn it a few more times. I'm sure a registry hack can bring it back. I got an error message...
Mine gets hot too, its normal.
Boot from the XP CD, and follow the instructions. Delete the partitions, then create new ones (or one), format, install the OS and your done

generally speaking, if you purchase a notebook, your not going down the upgrade path. That is reserved for desktops.
