I would think, if anything, the seagate 7200.4 2.5" HDD (i think it's momentus) would do a decent job as a desktop substitute until the 320GB Postville SSD comes out.

IIRC there is a firmware fix for that problem qhn, and fragmentation does not terribly hurt a SSD, the x25-m in particular as it can handle up to 10 simultaneous requests without slowdown.

do your speakers have magnetic field blockers so that they dont bork the computer? If they are "shielded" to block magnetic interference, they shouldn't pop.
