Check your PMs. I didn't try the video drivers from Windows update. I always thought nVidia might know more about their cards than Microsoft...

The same thing happened to my 5620D a few months after I replaced it. I remember reading somewhere that the Radeon 9000 was prone to failure. So I just figured that's what happened. Are you able to play any games? Mine looks fine...

It should do it automatically. When you run the program, does it have 4 circular graphs (similar to a gauge on a car)? On mine, the CPU temp is a smaller graph and is second from the left. Battery Savings --- CPU Temp --- CPU Speed...
Is the sound is coming from the HDD area (left side, close to the user)? If it is, then I have the same thing. I think it's just a characteristic of the drives we have, though. Could be wrong. Anyone else?
I just played a Skirmish for about an hour and it didn't seem like it was running too slow. I didn't, however, play it with the default settings so I don't have a whole lot to compare it to. But I did have everything on High settings...
