putting two and two together, is it possible to use the ordered remote for dell media experience.. and somehow configure the IR port in the front of the I9100/XPS to work the same as the USB IR port?
reformatting helps, especially if you dont use the plethora of software pre-installed on dell computers, and to help the heat, get fanGUI... see this thread for the fangui http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=20591
i thought i needed a cooler and was seriously researching them. then i got the fangui and it solved my heating problems safe and simple. great program, easy to use. specs of my machine are below...
i can imagine the horror stories, i believe i'm just one of the lucky ones. the only bad experience i've had is waiting almost a month for my I9100... but hey, i've got it now and i'm happy with it, i wish i saw more than out...
i formatted my hard drive a few days after receiving my I9100, and realized i didn't have the software for the media experience. i think i e-mailed dell and then talked to one person on the phone (it was a month ago, i forget exactly)...

the 3D mark seems ok, seeing its the 64MB. i have the 128MB, and the highest i got when i first ran it was 3358. I've wiped it clean since and the computer as a whole is running great. I ran the 3DMark03 again with only the basic...
i bought the dell remote control with my I9100, which arrived on monday to my delight ... the dell media experience is essentially the same software that comes with media center PC, enabling you to turn your laptop into a media...
its 2:30 in the morning, but i can slide in a quick response here to nibble on. I ran 3dmark2003 as one of the first things i installed on my I9100 (after deleting the multitude of non-needed extra crap from dell), and got a benchmark...
