I know your against fresh installs....but I'm currently dual booting XP/Vista with no issues on my e1705. When it first arrived...I did try the dual boot keeping the factory Vista install. I just had to use an effective partition...

Die.... What's the part number for the keyboard you ordered? I ordered a WG343 and should be receiving it tomm. I ordered it under the premise it looked like this: Looks like the silver..... but I'll confirm tomm. U.N.inspector
