they do recommend doing a backup since they can't guarantee no loss of info I did a backup using a blank DVD and the backup utility in WinXP. Turns out, I didn't lose anything in the upgrade (that I've noticed yet)

I think the F15 and F10 are VERY similar models In fact, mine was logged in by Toshiba as an F10 model and F10 is actually contained in the serial number. you have nothing to lose by calling Toshiba. I was in the same situation...

they replaced the system board and it's on it's way back to me via 2 Day Air hopefully, it will make it back to me safe and sound also hoping this addresses my display problem.

rich, I understand that it's a Toshiba program my F15 is presently at their Depot for repair. I'll keep a copy of this memo around in case I have further problems. may give me a leg to stand on if I want to push for replacement
