I should be fine, seeing as I have the same laptop as you (5672 w/X1600). Yeah I was just wondering because obviously Acer dosn't release updates and ATI never said they supported them.

On ATI's site it says they still don't support Acers. Will I encounter any major problems by using these offical drivers or should I stick with the Omega drivers?

you'll love the 5672 besides the heat issue, or at least until you fix the heat issue. Its still running luke warm no matter what I do. Its awesome now. Only thing I want is the webcam to work again (did a full reformat).
