Most of them only require a power cord that matches the local supply. The power brick itself is usually 90-250 volts and 50/60 Hz input.

Odds are your laptop, like most, doesn't have a 'line in' connector. The usual input provided is 'Mic in' and it is mono and too sensitive for the output of a cassette deck. You might need an external soundcard to do your recordings.
