What is it you'd like to do? TotalRecorder is a 'virtual soundcard' and you can do about anything with it you can do with a hardware soundcard. IMHO it's the DRM folks and not the manufacturers that are squashing the record from stereo...
Just get Total Recorder. I did 5 years ago and still use it.
I wasn't saying that either. The tuner/capture card will only produce an NTSC (tv) quality picture, unless you want to spend a kilo-buck or so on a Hi-Def capture card.
You can fix the signal level difference with an attenuator such as the one Radioshack sells. The other problem is the Mic In jack likely is mono, which there's no easy fix for.

No. But you can get a monitor for a couple dollars these days at a Thrift Store...
DVD Burners are less than thirty dollars. I doubt you'll find a CD Combo drive for much less than that, if at all. For example, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2&N=2010100005 notice the LiteOn Burner (3rd item) is only $1.00...
Take that core temp reading with a grain of salt. I've run it on mine and it was in the low eighties right after coming out of hibernate!
You can make your own toolbar by dragging a folder over to any of the edges of your secondary monitor.
Perhaps you need a different Processor driver for XP? I know when I tried Win 64 on this laptop power control stopped working because there wasn't the right driver available.
