No. It can have only one hard drive. Also, it does not have a multibay, so you cannot remove an optical drive and replace it with a second hard drive. In fact, none of the HP's performance laptops have a multibay any longer.

I'd go for WUXGA, but that's just my preference.

No. nw8440 does not have a multibay, so it's kinda a step backwards.

HP Compaq nx9420 can have a matte screen (non-Brightview). HP Compaq nw9440 has always a matte screen.
