Hey, if you remember/cared (ie, no) I had a 9860 that continued to fry itself and lastly blew one of it's raid 1 hard drives. I posted here and said "that's it" with colorful language and bought a Thinkpad x61s (which I...
Once again, I have had my Sager motherboard fry. The first two times, it was a 9860. This time, it was the 9890 board in 60 shell. I think it didn't go into standby properly, and cooked with the lid closed for a couple days, total drive...
Great point about IBM/Lenovo. You know, you don't always hear people spreading GOOD customer support stories. Here's one that Sager could emulate: http://consumerist.com/consumer/warr...ovo-256506.php "On Wednesday morning,...
I've experienced this myself, and believe it or not I have previous experience with edison connectors. Has anyone seen this design feature in other laptops? I sure haven't, but then again I've only been plugging things into outlets as...
The new motherboard will only have a 6 month warranty. They are replacing the lemon (EVERY 9860 motherboard is a lemon.) motherboard with the 9890 one. Could anyone with 9890 experience comment on the lifespan of this motherboard...
Seriously, nothing nowhere about third party? I recommend you write a nice letter to consumerist.com about this asking what their advice is. Hey who can answer me the obvious question, why did PC Torque switch from Warrantech to ATS?
A hard drive with bad sectors doesn't come back after rebooting...so maybe that's not the problem (if this is the same prob as before)...sounds mechanical...reminds me of the old hard drive in the freezer trick. Or maybe a connection...
You're pretty hosed if one drive goes, that's why it's a sham when someone recommends you put raid 0 on a laptop of all things. I've heard good things about www.grc.com Spinrite but dunno if it'll help your situation.
Hey, look at me! Wow the base policy is even better than I suspected, 3 years all parts, not even talking about the part itself! ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pccbbs...enovo_solw.pdf Warranty Period A warranty period of 3 years...
I guess I took IBM for granted. Anyone know Lenovo's policies for when I purchase my next laptop?
