My vote is for AVG and Sygate. The combo has worked flawlessly for me for ages. Add in Spybot, Adaware, Firefox, and Thunderbird, and I haven't ever had a single problem in well, um... forever.

Sygate is a pretty good free firewall program. My girlfriend runs it on her computer with AVG, too and works very well. She tried Kerio, but it didn't work too well, and she didn't really care for it. My rec. would be for Sygate.
