Thanks Ant, Stardownloader's a big help. Can anyone recommend a decent alternative to AIM? Just needs to be AIM compatible but preferably with the least interference (resource hogging, ad/spyware) and the most security possible.
I'm using stardownloader and I'm very happy with it. It does the same segmenting as getright (I did notice a speed increase, I had been d/ling 200kbs-400 kbps over wireless and with it I was doing 500-800kbps)
I was worried about the performance when I first started up my XPS 2 as well (on my 3rd day now!) but just like you said, after reformatting last nigt this thing just flies. Dell's not helping themselves out by sending us partially...
Haven't tried it yet but Foxit sounds like a nice alternative to Acrobat Reader for viewing .pdf files. I don't understand what acrobat reader's problem is but any alternative to its troublesome nature is appealing.

Since you already have a sweet desktop get the XPS2 and maybe upgrade the desktop a bit? It's nice being able to move my XPS2 throughout the house with me.
When I was ordering my XPS2 I was pissed they wouldn't split between Preferred and Debit. I mean if you extend someone $x of credit shouldn't they be able to pay off some of the system with a lump some up front and put the rest on credit...
