anyone have any ideas what they use to protect from ESD events? What type of diode should I look for? I get 5V on USB, but when I plug in USB device my laptop (6510GZ) doesn't recognize it. Any suggestions?
Here is the picture of what I've done. The other side of the jumper is soldered to the center pin on the other side of the mother board. http://img77.imageshack.us/img77/9546/imgrq8.jpg
ghn, shoot, I should've taken a picture when I had it out. I had to assemble and disassemble it like 4-5 times. All I've done is soldered 18 Ga wire to the center pin on the back of connector and to the mother board on the opposite...
GHN, thanks again. After I took the keyboard out everything else (or almost) was self intuitive. I got my power jack fixed (added jumper wire for the center hot pin).
thanks for the link. I'll try removing the keyboard tonight to see if it will give me any clue on how to separate the silver plastic with the black plastic.
Need to disassemble my M360 laptop. Has anybody done that? I need instructions, I can not pulled 2 plastic pieces apart.
