Tapek I would be really interested to hear how your 8600 handles the doom alpha demo... average settings with low resolution, or high-normal settings and resolution? Be a princess & include a screenshot if you can as well please...

has anyone ran Doom 3 alpha demo on their laptop? I am especially keen to see what kind of performance a Dell I 9100 & 8600 can achieve.

Like you CHL I am in the UK & disappointed by the lack of the XPS. From how I interpret the situation it is upgradeable independently of Dell however this can cause problems as you'll probably be acting outside of the customer...

Maybe I haven't looked hard enough but there seems to be a distinct lack of in-game benchmarks from more 'high-end' performance demanding games running more DirectX 9 features. While I struggle to find the correlation between 3dmark03...
