Hi.. i have a 4 month old Hitachi easy drive 500gb... with about 80gb filled i havnt used the drive for about 2 months... and decided to use it yesterday.... loaded things up... and then tried to turn it on today... and my computer...

How do i do that?... i thought the drivers are already installed and thats why it boots up windows....

I have an inspiron 1420... and i have a bunch of problems with the preloaded OS and wanted to load my own OS on it... but when i booted my windows CD and went through all the initiation, It told me that the computer didnt find any...

does anyone have one?... i want to do to 2 things remove the palmrest peice so i can paint it... and remove the LCD , hinge area... to see what i can fix/tighten/replace to fix to wobbly hinge.

once i take the lcd apart... what am i looking for?... is it something that needs to be replaced?
