what is stack bashing? Also I didnt know nvclock would get around the lock. I thought linux locked the clocks at 3d speeds all the time. I dont want extreme performance with linux, I just want my laptop running cool when I do use it.

my card is the 7900gs and my 3d clocks are 550/725 . I've never tried the unlocked bios though.

well i just realised that the "right fan" setting is actually for the cpu fan and the "left fan" setting is the the gpu fan but i seem to only have these dynamically change according to the cpu temp and not the gpu...
hey can somebody help me use the i8k plugin for gkrellm? i got it to work (i'm using the 32 bit ubuntu now so everything installed fine) I'm trying to fiddle with the settings but I dont seem to think it's actually controlling the gpu...
okay I figured out how to increase the width so now it's not jumbled again but the fan speeds are way off :s
