2) Next purchase will probably be a Western Digital, I've just had good luck with WD drives. They seem to be more reliable, at least in my personal experience.

i'm not sure about the "limited connectivity" mesage part of things (it might be the result of having two wireless controls running at once, that's a common problem. windows has it's own control, and most vendors include their own version as well, and neither seems to play nice), but as long as it's working, who cares?
depending on the router, you might not need to wait a full 20 min. i've heard of it resetting pretty quick in some cases....
i don't know if you've gotten this fixed yet, but if not, I have two questions ...
1) are you running xp pro? is this the same os as your other system?
2) when you go to the dos prompt, type "ipconfig /all" and look for the ip address....does it start with 169?
if so, try something for me. unplug your modem and router, leave them alone for 20 min or so. plug them back in, and fire up the new system (NOT the one that's working properly). is the connection...
