I have used the extended warranty on 2 of the 3 laptops I have purchased. The Dell 8600 has worked flawlessly for 2 years, which is a good thing because I could not afford the extended warranty when I purchased it.

Go for the memory and a external DVD burner. I have a external which works great. I can also move it between my desktop and laptop.

I run a 19" LCD off my DVI port on the APR for my 8600. It works great. My kids have taken over my desktop computers, so I use my 8600 as a desktop. She is 2 years old and still going strong.

I'm considering adding the 7200 RPM HD to my 8600. How much of an increase has anyone noticed?
