If I asked Alienware US nicely they would ship to the UK if I offered to pay for the costs? If I rang them? What do you think?

They have sent me a confirmation email. I have emailed their cupport, technical assistance and customer service and billing addresses and have received no reply to either. What the hell should I do?

Dam my plan is foiled! If the billing address is different to the shipping address then they ask for your social security number. Being in the UK I don't possess one! Does anyone know any way round this?
