I had the same problem. I reinstalled the "dell" drivers that came off of my inspiron 9300 driver cd...the light stays on all the time now...
9.0.0.61 drivers..
I personally don't think emachines will do anything about this issue....they are gonna lose waaaay too much money. I know it sux to say but I think it's the honest truth. I just got my RMA box in but I think they are gonna get it and...
that is if they let you return it....some people have said that emachines considers it a cosmetic issue and will do nothing about it. I wonder what is cosmetic about a moving part....
I know this for a fact. ALL of the hinges in the m680X series are going to crack sooner or later. I don't know how or if emachines will permanantly fix the problem. We can only keep our fingers crossed.
