This is definitely my new computer. Glad to get rid of this Acer, with the poor Wi-Fi reception and continuous screens of "blue death." I can't wait until April, though, so I'll get an FE first and then an SZ! Will...
Is a feature of the Acer. I've been strugging with that since I bought my 8104, and I even had Acer send me a replacement Wi-Fi card, which was no help. I just upgraded to the new Linksys SRX200 (WRT54GX2 for $110 at Amazon.com)...

I agree that tip #14 has the jiggling problem. But then again, since there's no other option for an airplane-powered TM 8104 adapter, I would still recommend it. You just need to keep an eye on it. It's a hack for sure.
