So, looking at the pictures I can find of the 512 mB 7900 GTX cards, like this one here, it looks like they are too "thick" to fit in a SLI format.
I'm wondering, can you run a card like this in SLI? Looking at the SLI edge...
Nope, custom desktop.
AMD x2 4800, dual 7800 GTX SLI cards, dual rapto 74 gB in RAID 0, single 250 GB WD, 2 gigs of RAM, case, power supply, and 24" monitor. Thats how you get a $4500 desktop

Oh, and the XPS is plenty portable, about 8 pounds or so. If you can't be bothered to carry around 8 lbs, you probably need to spend a bit of time in the gym.
