abt the usb:
1. if they get probed by the kernel as modules, is there anything i need to mess around with in /dev?
2. if I have a usb hard disk <isd200> how do i configure that to be mounted <ie mounting as a device...

for the sager 8887.
every ****ing app loads fast.
managed to get XFree864.3 working with
dri at 2000fps via glxgears.
installed alsa, but cant make...
btw, the error stated above comes with
make CFLAGS="-march=pentium4 -mfpmath=sse" -f Makefile.linux.
i tried to compile the drm modules
without the options for cflags and it loaded,
got mdk9.1 final release running.
used a standard tarball for the DRM dri
plus used Xfree864.3 binaries for install.
managed to get config going....
2000fps for glxgears, etc.
lets play some quake.
came up with this error.
got it both from a CVS dl of the DRI trunk
and the main XFree86 trunk.
made it with 'make CFLAGS="-march=pentium4 -mfpmath=sse" -f Makefile.linux' in the drm/kernel directory.

pain in the ass
so many libs, other requirements,
plus configuration is hell.
i may just switch back to the latest mandrake release
and boot these type of *nixes on a separate partition,
to experiment and all.
having trouble with kernel config
was wondering if patching had to do withit
make bzImage options return error , right when its abt
to make the kernel image.
is there a specific order to using more than one patch?
