I prefer the resolution of the MBP to 1680x1050 like the ACER 8204. I just sent the Acer back and have ordered a MBP - yay! PC manufacturers need to wakeup and learn from Apple on how to build hardware without compromise.
Acer have really good support. My hats off to them. End of the day though I don't want to be a beta tester. The screen is subpar, if you disagree you haven't seen enough. (I compared six 8204's against 5 other notebooks) Viewing angles...

I'm thinking of returning my Acer 8204 notebook for a MBP because its thinner and cooler looking. Just wondering is the LCD in the MBP bright and got good viewing angles?

Well - when it boots nothing on the LCD. The CDrom initialises but then POST stops. I swapped the RAM and CPU.. nothing. This happened before as well, but now its no longer under guarentee.
My CL56 motherboard or gpu died. Anyone know where I can order a new one?
Looks like the IBM T60p is the only one so far. Great notebook btw.
