rickster, i have the same 7950 gtx as you and also use rivatuner. My idle temp setting is around 60, might be a little high, but as you said rivatuner can't tell temps. when i play FEAR the highest i've seen it go is 93. my middle fan...

For the nVidia cards go to the card options and then Digital Flat Panel Settings - check Fixed Aspect Ratio, that will stop the game from stretching out
