Myself, I am planing on buying this month. I thought of waiting for the Turion but that is a never ending game. I waited for the Sanomo's (centrino 2's) and although the GPU's are better I wish the power savings were more.

There is really no big difference between the Acer 8104
and the Asus Z71V. My problem is now . . . where do I get

A ~10 degree C drop in temperature seems impressive, has anyone gotten similar drops in temperature ?
I've gone through the thread about undervolting and it sounds interesting, and knowing that the 8103/8104 runs a little hot in some people's opinions I wanted to know what people's results have been with this technique.

I am close to finally pulling the trigger on a laptop purchase, it has been only a year or so. ( Was going to get a CL56 but waited to see the new Sonoma's )
So my choices are :
a) Acer 8104 - ATI's X700
b) Asus Z71V...
Does anyone know of a builder that will custom build an 8104 with a 7200 rpm drive ?
It is such a shame that the 8104 only has a 5400 drive, it still stacks up well against the new Asus Z71V. Still can't decide on which one darn it...
Looking to find that information myself, been waiting for of the poeple who go the Asus Z71V to benchmark things. Trying to decide between the the Asus Z71V (6600) and the Acer 8104 (x700)
