I currently am running a 600m with the modular battery...what other laptops will this work with? I'm looking at maybe upgrading a bit in the near future, possibly to a 6000 or D810. Also, will this work with an 8600?
long story short...my 9100 battery started acting up..I called Dell and they sent a replacement..and of course it arrived the day I hadn't slept in 2 days....so like a moron, I replace the battery, and don't bother to take the small speaker/subwoofer out of the bad battery, and put it in the good battery, and then I sent it back to Dell.
Does anyone have a spare one, or know how I can get one from Dell? I tried looking at Dell Spare Parts but I can't find this thing?
I just sold my 9100 on ebay...my ebay account has been active since November of '99 and I have 40 or 45 positive feedback (100%).
I haven't received payment yet since the auction just closed last night, but the biggest issue I had was a ton of people from Cambodia and Vietnam wanting me to send it there. Obviously I declined.
I like my 600m. The keyboard does flex a little, but I can still type just as well on it as a normal keyboard. I don't notice any odd hard drive noise or any of the other issues you mention. The SXGA+ screen is beautiful, battery life is good, and wireless connections never drop. I'm a happy customer with this laptop.
you don't need to have USB devices hooked up to reinstall the USB drivers. Go into the control panel, double click system, then the hardware tab/device manager. You'll see a section for Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Right click them, then uninstall them and reboot. Windows will redetect everything.
Dell 1350 wireless card and a Cisco 340 AP. Never had any problems with either, the Cisco is a champ...its nice being able to turn down the broadcast power to limit the coverage provided to just the house and property and not all over the neighborhood.
