Do you intend to use Parallels? If so, then 2GB will be quite handy. 1GB for OSX, 1GB for Windows.
I bought my M6805 in May 2004 and had the usual trio of problems: screen flicker, LCD hinge crack and rubber feet falling off. Otherwise the laptop is perfectly fine.
7k60 is the laptop version. e7k60 was designed for low-profile servers.
Do kingston chips generally get along with 68xx series? I'm considering picking up some PC3200 RAM for my 6805 and currently looking at Kingston's 1GB SODIMMs.
Andevian pretty much covered it all, but I wanted to add that if all of your wireless clients support 802.11g and running WinXP SP2 (not sure about mac or Linux support for this) you might consider stepping up encryption to WPA or WPA2....
My 6805 had cracked hinges and after 1 year developed LCD flicker. Seeing how it's out of warranty I'll have to repair it myself.

If whatever they're repairing doesn't require machine to be booted into OS, then send it without the hard drive. I did so for hinge replacement and they had no problems with it.
