yes I deleted the c drive partition

I have a I8600 with 60gig 7200 rpm HD,reinstalled win xp pro,and did not install all dell's software. When I click on C drive properties its telling me that my HD capacity is only 55.89 gig. What happen to the rest,thats over 4 gig...
