1 HDD System, 512MB RAM (important when considering HDD access)

Normal Use:
CPU - 50C (6x @ 0.700V)
GPU - 61C
HDD - 42C

Gaming:
CPU - 56C (13x @ 1.020V)
GPU - 78C
HDD - No idea

Normal 3DMark05 benchmark: 3500
OC'd 3DMark05 benchmark: 4000 with my previous M3438G, haven't tested this one but I think it's higher

*TIP*
A good way of testing GPU temps is to use Unreal Tournament for example. When playing press alt+enter to run the game in a window, then you can see live and true temps at the same time =)

HD: Both HDs at 48 Celsius (according to DTemp).
GPU: 56 celsius, 54 celsius ambient (according to Nvidia control panel).

I took off the CPU temperature info, I concluded it was wrong, other temps I have mentioned here were the same when testing with Everest as well (couldn't see any temp info for the CPU there unfortunately).

I want to make a suggestion. I think it is good to post together with the temps which applications were used to monitor the temperatures.

GPU temps are also monitored in the Nvidia control panel.. just tellin' for those who dont know

"SiSoft Sandra 2005" is a superb computer monitor program. Tells you absolutely shít-loads of info, values, and status reports for all the inner working parts of your computer, including temperatures and more besides.

The problem is, it depends how long the laptop has been on as well. For example, I turned my laptop on a few minutes ago, and the CPU is at 32C. The GPU is at 47C.

I know the disadvantages of 1920x1200, but Dell is using this resolution in their XPS gaming notebooks as well, so it can't be that bad.
And I've seen the Sony Vaio with WUXGA display in action - simply amazing!
If the M4438 is nearly as good as the Sony, I'll take it.

I'm going tomorrow to pick up my M3438G from the store, and i was wondering: what should i check for except dead pixels and problems with the keyboard?

Also, all you that have bought this, don't you worry about 64bit compatibility, as Longhorn is just about the corner?

Longhorn/Vista will have a 32-bit version

Look to make sure the laptop base is flat. Probably just a one-off thing, but you never know...

Heavy use:
CPU- 52
GPU- 69
HDD- 47

Gaming more then 30 min:
CPU- 57
GPU- 72
HDD- 53

The temperatures were taken in XP Pro using MobMeter and Speedfan (btw, the last one doesn't see my fans at all

))
Haven't tried heavy gaming yet for 3 & more hours.. I'll add it later

I was just gaming for about 2 hours on Rome: Total War, and the GPU didn't get as hot as normal. When I closed the game, after a few minutes it was at 60C, which is lower than it is normally when idle...

I didn't check it right away, as I forgot, but still it's very odd. At the moment it's 61C and I haven't used it in gaming for at least half an hour. Puzzling.

Yes, it would be good to have a program that would actually let you access the fans, I sure haven't found such a prog yet...
