Unhappy MSI 1013 AKA MSI S270 RAM issue

Ok here is the most weird thing ever. I bought the laptop and 1gb of A-data RAM DDR400. It didnt work by itself. Then I added a 128MB ram module with some hinyx chips dont know the brand but it is 133MHZ. If I use the 133 module by itself the laptop works, if I use the 133 + the 1gb ddr400 it works.

Then my friend lent me one 512 ddr333 kingston, and this one doesnt work neither by itself nor with the 128 133 module.

I know the laptop is picky with the memory but damn!, plus supposedly Kingston is supported. I'm running on the latest bios 3.7.

Please give me some pointers as to what can I do. I'm RMAing the Adata and I bought a 1GB Crucial DDR400, hopefully it will work.

the 1013 only officially supports 333mhz RAM, but the 400 should work.

did you try the other slot?

Kingston should work fine in the MSIs.

I tried everything, even on both slots. But it still doesnt work. I hope that with the Crucial memory works. I read in another thread that supposedly the 3.6 bios and up fixes the 333Mhz limit and ups it to 400Mhz.

The only memory that is readily availabe in the U.S. which is on MSI's AVL list (tested and passed) is Supertalent. BIOS version 3.60 does correct the downclocking issue when using two SODIMMs.
