Sure thing, sure thing. It might be unfortunate to some extent, but like you, I'm one of those people who can't leave their machine alone until everything works properly. Eg. provided that I have time, I could, at times, spend hours trying to weed out an oddity. Helps with experience, but doesnt help with time .

How about this.....a pcmcia card was able to be detected in my sager.....but the linksys card is a cardbus card, and it was not....could that be the issue??? In the device manager there is no marks next to the cardbus device....Thx

The slot in your Sager is a cardbus, PCMCIA is just the name of an older standard and cardbus is backwards compatible with PCMCIA

O well...I figured I would try...the Linksys card has a copper band ...but the ethernet card...which worked...did not.....Thx

Thx for all the help...I ended up sending it back to Sager and they replaced the motherboard...so I guess we were not all crazy....Thx again guys.....

Oh God, the motherboard! I have had the exact same problem you described through out. Atleast now I know what i have to do. Have spent so many hours with this problem. Thanks for posting
