Our admins take the best and most objective laptop reviews and index them here to create a distinct selection of quality reviews with averaged overall ratings. Many of these reviews have benchmarks attached to them which allows for users to compare their laptop's performance with others, and ultimately enables us to provide a sortable list which at a glance show the fastest laptops amongst a variety of applications (gaming, video editing, web browsing, etc...). My Inspiron 9300 review

9300 Review

INTRODUCTION
This is a review on my Dell Inspiron 9300 laptop. Everyone is probably happy that I’m not bugging them. The specs are:
Pentium M 1.73
512 RAM
256MB Nvidia 6800 Go(of course)
2915 wireless
60G HD
XP Professional

SCREEN
This is AWESOME! There is absolutely NO light leak and NO sparkles. I went for the WUXGA and it IS AWESOME! The angles are excellent and now 1024x768 is HUGE coming from 1920x1200. THIS SCREEN IS AWESOME!

SIZE AND WEIGHT
This thing is not as big as I thought it was. When I opened the box I stared at the laptop for a few seconds. When I lifted it up it felt like it weighed only about 4lbs. The 17 inch screen is AWESOME!

GAMING
So far Ive only played Grand Theft Auto 3 on this beast. I was running it at 1920x1200 with ALL HIGH SETTINGS and it ran AWESOME, I MEAN AWESOME! The laptop was acting as if it could take much more.

PERFORMANCE
The CPU is great! I thought 1.73GHZ would be no better than my P4 1.6 in my dimension, but this CPU runs better than my uncle’s desktop which has an Athlon 64.

EXTERIOR LOOKS
This thing looks AWESOME! The media buttons are SUPER COOL! The keyboard and touchpad are also super cool.

BATTERY LIFE
I got the 9 cell battery so I get pretty good battery life. Right now my battery icon says 3 hours and 28 minutes left. The 6 cell gets less, though.

WIRELESS
The 2915 is Great! I get 54.0Mbps from my kitchen which is about 15 feet from my router. My signal strength is always EXCELLENT!

This completes my review of my AWESOME laptop.

Edit: I have now used my laptop more and am still very pleased with its performance. My drives and parts are working flawlessly. The GPU is still truly awesome. The CPU outperformes my desktop CPU by alot.

Edit again: I played Grand Theft Auto 3 for about 3 hours on my laptop on battery and it still said about 1 hour left of battery. Go 9 cell! I have also played BF2, HL2, Far Cry, COD2 and they all run incredibly awesome.
Here are the resolutions:
HL2 1600x1200
BF2 1600x1200
Far Cry default res, havent messed with it yet
COD2 1440x900 DX9 mode
All of this is with absolutely no overclocking and only Forceware 78.11 video drivers(havent downloaded new ones yet)

hey troop, I know what you mean about the lappy. I ordered 1gig instead of 512. I wish I would of waited since buying 3rd party is cheaper. Get a gig when you feel you need to.
