Help choosing new laptop

I finally decided to to buy a new lappie and I am having trouble making my decision. I am trying to decide between the Sager 5720, the Hypersonic CX7 and the Dell XPS. I really like what I hear about Sager and PC Torque but notebooks configured the same between Sager and Hypersonic the Sager is more expensive (big difference from last year). The Dell is the most expensive unless they run a great coupon deal which is few and far between on the XPS. so I'm trying to get some feedback on this.(Looking to get 2.0 mobile chip, 7800 gtx and at least a gig of ram.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Hi splurch.

I own a CX7 which is EXACTLY the same as the 5720. I went with Hypersonic because the price was cheaper when I purchased it. Hypersonic has been great with their customer service and I love the laptop. I would not go with the Dell personally because I prefer the "boutique" type of vendor and when I priced them all before my own purchase they came out as the most expensive and for a lesser setup to boot. I originally was gonna go with Sager as well but I ended up after a few weeks of research and went with the Hyper. If you need help after your purchase feel free to post here in the Hypersonic section. Lots of people here that know plenty of information for you plus Pat@Hypersonic hangs here and will be of great help to you. Some recomendations for you: Go with the 7200 rpm hard drive and make it a sata drive as well. Your performance with that and the 7800 card will rock. I scored 6980 on 3dmark05 at last test and that was with my system running anti-virus and all the other "daily" stuff in the background! For a Centrino laptop the CX7 absolutely kicks butt. Best of luck in your purchase endevours!

I will echo the comments that k|LL3rCr0w posted above. The CX7 does kick some butt. If you read some of my other posts, you will see that this was surprising to me.

I can't comment on the 7200 aspect, but I will agree that a 7200 SATA is the way to go. I went with more storage versus the speed factor. Since I had been using 5400s on my EX7, I knew what I was getting into. For me, more space was more important.

I recommend you don't rule out the dead pixel insurance or extended warranties. Both of these are items that you will come to want if problems exist. You may end up paying more for something you feel you will never need - but in the case of problems, you will not regret it. This is the third system I have purchased from Hypersonic and each time, it is a required item.

Good luck!

Yeah D.B. Ive been down here since 91 (from Detroit originally) and I have to say I really like Jax alot. Got to go to the Superbowl last year here and I am going to go up to the one in Detroit this year (oh and the parties at the Superbowl rock)!! On the web site it says 7 to 10 days to ship how off is that?
I think since you went over to the dark side and choose Hypersonic Im leaning this way for sure now..
