Splurch's Hypersonic Aviator CX7 Review

First off I am a very cautious consumer. I shopped for a notebook for over a
year before I decided on the Hypersonic Aviator CX7 (I took me over a year
to purchase my last car). I read good feedback and Horror stories about
every company so it makes choosing a notebook very difficult. It was the
reviews by people like Ratmyr, Chode Messiah, Darth Beavis (M.I.A), Pat
(Hypersonic Rep) and others that led me to choose Hypersonic. And with that
I would like to thank all of them for helping me get this magnificent machine!

Now to the review!!

This is what I ordered and received.

Ordering:
I simply used the web site and placed my order and it went flawlessly. I then
later decided to get more than a one year warranty and called them up and
they simply added it on with no problem in the matter of minutes. I ordered
with my company credit card and it worked out great. I ordered late on Friday
February 10th and it was approved on Monday February 13th.

Customer Service (Sales Reps):
I talked to a few reps while checking on my order and changing the warranty
and they were all very pleasant and very helpful. Dorain, Alison (including Pat
here on the NBF, helped me with a couple of private message questions).

Shipping
This was nerve racking (the waiting) but all went fine. It was estimated to
ship on the 27th but shipped on the 24th.(yay). It arrived at my office on
Tuesday the 28th. It was packaged very well and I think the UPS guys would
have had to run over the box to damage it. (It happens my friend works at
the UPS warehouse here).

Appearance:
It is a real thing of beauty!! From the brushed metal lid, the dimensions (thin)
and just seems well made. It really is very solid and not cheap feeling like
some other notebooks I have seen.

The Screen:
I was really torn on what screen to get the WUXGA or the WSXGA+ screen. I
chose the WUXGA and I am glad I did. It plays movies, games, and lets me
have alot of real estate for multiple applications. It is also very clear and
sharp. I also did not order the Dead Pixel Guarantee (I decided to stick to my
budget). When I fired the machine up I checked and so did my friend and
there is not a dead pixel any where on this screen. Overall the screen is
perfect!!

Sound:
The sound to me is pretty good. It is not great for listening to music but
pretty good for games. I purchased the Audigy 2 card but have not installed
it yet, (I will let you all know how I like it after this weekend).

The Audio DJ:
It is very nice. I have not used it much yet but I will mess around with it this
week.

Fans/System sounds:
The system is very quiet, the only times that the fans really kick is when I am
playing Far Cry maxed out.

Heat:
As with the fans the system only gets warm at all when running games but
the fans do a good job of cooling it down.

Game Play:
So far I have played Warhammer 40K Dawn of War and Far Cry (1920 x 1200)
and they both run flawlessly! This Saturday I am going to my friends house
for a lan (He has 10 pc's set up and we usually get around 10 to 14 people to
show up, we do this most Saturdays, the system will really get tested out
this weekend).

Overall Satisfaction:
I really love this machine! From the ordering to me playing games Hypersonic
really built me a real quaity notebook and gave me great customer service. I
will recommed Hypersonic to everybody I know. (I already talked the owner of
the company I work for to order one).

I will be attaching photos when I can figure it out and updating this review
once I really get to test it out.
