I ordered a customized thinkpad t41 from IBM on march 3rd. it says 2-4 weeks, since the parts are being "ordered."

alright.

so what I'm thinking, is will the wait really be 2-4 weeks

Most of the t40/41s are on this 2 week wait thing, so I couldnt' just order one, plus I'd rather order from IBM direct.

So, how long did it take you to get your thinkpad when it said 2-4 weeks. I'm going crazy without a laptop. Thanks.

Have you checked www.newegg.com? I ordered one for a friend in February and they said it would not ship till late March and possibly early April.

I've waited for four weeks then cancelled my order with IBM. I ordered a X40 back in Feb 10. I just found out it may not ship out until April 9th.

Hi -- saw you were waiting for an IBM. I can get an enormous discount (25%+) through my school -- same wait, but you will save some real money. PM me if interested...
