Fn+F10 Key Not Working

When I came back from Spring Break on Sunday, I noticed that the fans on my 8790 have not shut off at all, and when I try to toggle the Fn+F10 fan key it does nothing- not even a beep. Even at home on Sunday morning, it did the normal thing of switching between no fans-med-and high fan settings but then somehow Sunday night it started keeping them on all the time. I can still hear them vary in speed, but they never shut off. Does anyone have any suggestions?

You need the last BIOS revision, it is

BIOS Revision: V122 1.00.10
KBC/EC Firmware Revision: 1.00.F6
VBIOS Revision: VER008.017M.097.000-2004/2004/03/29

After the initial flash and your system reboots, press Ctrl+C to quit out of the BIOS update the second time. At the A: prompt type "h8-f6" to update the system's KBC firmware.

Your fans should now work properly.

DO you where I can get this other than waiting for Sager to send it to me? Also, my VBIOS is 7/05/04- should I go back to the old VBIOS?

I have the BIOS file; however, don't have the KBC/EC or VBIOS revisions. I can email it to you if you prvovide an email address - Please use PM for this so that you don't unintentionally spread your email address around the world.

Which processor do you have?

The KBC flash is included in the BIOS revision, you do not need a separate file, just do the h8-f6 command at the flash prompt.

Don't flash backward to an older vbios unless yours is giving you problems, yours is the latest one, not the one I listed.. I forgot I had reflashed to an older one to see if it would fix the artifacting problem.

If you are running the Northwood CPU you can do a search for 879bv10.zip that is the one you want.

I never got to see the prompt...I used WinPhlash to the flash. Is there still a way to do this?
