it all depends on what toshiba decides, like the first gen of the m40 that didnt have ddr2 ram, despite the processor typically being paired with ddr2 toshiba decided for whatever reason not to use it and so we didnt see it. it may be the same with this model it may not we cant be sure till its in someones hands.

That Cnet review says April 2 for a ship date. I personally don't believe them, maybe we should ask a Best Buy person or something.

And Toshiba's website has it listed with 667mhz RAM, so my question is answered.

Why did they include slower ram??? To save money? Or is it shipping with 667mhz ram after all?

Mid-March has come and gone bro... Toshiba website said it had 667mhz RAM, so let us know what you actually get, as amazon says it has "top of class" (baloney) 533mhz RAM.

it can be any number of reasons why they would choose to use one ram speed over another....

Ok found out some intersting facts on teh 7900GS

Thermal Design Power (TDP) of the Go 7900GS is only 20 Watts! With ATI's Mobility Radeon X1600 (12 pixel pipelines) having a TDP of 17W

Don't know if it is coming to Canada or not but the main differences are as follows.

P105 p100
7900GS 7300 video is so much better
160GB 120GB Hard drive is bigger

That is pretty much it. I know in the US you can customize the P100 to have a 7600 video card and WSXGA+ 1680 x 1050 resolution vs. the 1440 x 900 that it normally comes with.

I wonder how the 160GB 4200RPM disk would compare to a 80GB 7200RPM. Some people say that a denser disk should be faster, but some dispute it. Pity about the screen as well, they should have stuck a WSXGA+ or WUXGA instead. Nice lappy otherwise.

The only thing that makes me pause on this on is DX10, actually its making me pause on any laptop. As a gamer, I think I may wait until we get some DX10 GPUs.
