Aritfacts once again
During 1st year I purchased the 8790, I had severe artifacting and Sager replaced the motherboard saying it was a bad videochip.
During the past 2 months I've had bad artifacting, and called Warrentech as I'm under warranty. They told me to uninstall all ati video drivers and use the generic ati driver. For about 1 hour the screen was okay, but now the artifacts and tearing have returned even when I am not running any programs. This is my 3rd problem with the 8790 and will be sending it in for repair. It would be nice if Sager had an exchange policy / lemon law with a problematic laptop where a trade-in and cash would get us a new machine. |

Tell me about it, I have had both my harddrives fail, card reader fail, battery die, and now have horrible artifacting problems. Luckily I was finally able to get my warranty information from Sager and will be filing my claim to get everything fixed once it enters their system... Then I will be selling it. Good riddance to my 8790. Spending over $3000 on my 8790 was the biggest mistake I have ever made. |
