188 9100s shipped per day

I forgot to mention , while talking to Dell Rep, who was configuring a new 9100 for me, he mentioned that currently they are shipping approx 188 pieces per day. He admitted that its a slow start but the volume will pick up soon.

Well there you go. It would be nice to compare how many orders have been made to how many are being shipped.... but at least its good news for those waiting in that something is happening at least.

that sounds like the biggest BULLSH*T yet... 188 systems per day when each sales rep is slated to sell about 10 systems per day times how many reps there are in all in every location... hmmmm...

Well he said shipping, not selling. Plus they suspended shipping for a while to fix an "issue." So now they are catching up.

And the reps arent really set up for 10 systems a day. Goals are based on a percentage of calls taken and the scale slides depending on promo and day of the week.

What makes you think every order is placed through a sales rep. Many people configure and buy theirs online.

im sorry if you misunderstood. i didnt mean that comment towards you but towards the rep you talked to. ESales (the department that takes care of online Home sales) has stated that over 51% of Home business comes over the internet. so if you take that into account plus the hundreds upon hundreds of sales reps (you should see the sales floor), a rep telling you that only 188 systems are shipping each day is ludicrous. even if that were true, they would be backlogged all the way till who knows when to fulfill all orders. their stories are getting worse and worse.

I guess the number 188 is just his knowledge (on friday, mar 26) and should be increasing everyday. He did say that the demand for 9100 was more than expected. So dont be too worried. Heck! Atleast they are shipping.

Not every system shipped is a 9100 ya know. On a daily basis about 15k systems are shipped. Sometimes up to 25k. Just for Dell Home Sales. Of that only 35% are Laptops. Then take a new system that they had to hold shipping to get new parts for and it isnt out of the question.

And which sales floor? Some are huge, some aren't.
