Why the huge size differential? The new drivers are about 35 MB bigger then the old ones -- that's almost three times as big...

I don't know, but I can tell you the very generic video test on pcpitstop.com showed these new drivers faster than the past one on Sager's site.

It's big because it includes DX9c.

Talking Newer then on Nvidia's Site

Are these drivers really 84.22 or is that somthing Sager put on there to state they made changes to the 84.21 drivers on Nvidia's site. Also gotta say that I am impressed that Sager has the most recent video drivers out for there users considering the lack of go driver updates from Nvidia...Thanx for the great support Sager!

Clevo/Sager (or other resellers) are responsible for making their own drivers for laptops or other mobile devices. Nvidia mainly makes drivers for the Desktop versions. But with more laptops going on the market Nvidia is also making some laptop drivers also. The ones Sager created might be 84.21 drivers that were specifically designed to work with 6800 to
2 X nVidia GeForce GO 7800GTX with 256 MG DDR33 with SLI(512 total).
But for me with the original go6800 from Nov 2004, the 84.12 are best all around drivers for me. But if your a big time gamer 84.25 seems to be the one you need if you play Oblivian(sp). See laptopVideo2go for lots of laptop drivers for Nvidia Cards.

Grr. I installed this on my Sager 5720 and ran into a problem. Whenever my 5720 resumes from standby, the LCD screen remains off, but the computer is still operating (I can reboot it my using keyboard commands). This happens on AC or battery power.

Thinking it would fix the problem, I did just try the LaptopVideo2Go drivers and INF file, but that produced the same results.

Did I do something wrong? Any other 5720 owners having this problem?

Press Fn + F7 ... i have the same problem it seems to think you've got a moniter plugged in when you come out of sleep mode

on another note... the link now says that the drivers are 79.31... i downloaded them anyway but am weary of installing them... i have 83.4 installed now.... and am waiting for confirmation that these 79.31 drivers run better... is there another link to the 84.22 or 25 drivers... the official nvidia drivers only go to 83.4

I just checked Sager's 9860 driver page and they have listed both the 79.31 drivers and the 84.22 drivers. I'm guessing the reason they still have both drivers available is that people who still have the 6800 that originally came with the 9860 might not need the newer drivers, while those who upgraded their 9860's GPU might want to use the latest driver (they effectively have a 9880 or 9890 now).

I have the original GPU that came with the 9860 and have tried both 79.31 and the later drivers from the site 'tater posted, they both work, but I don't really play and FPS intensive games, so I can't really tell any performance difference in them. Maybe someone else could...

thanks for the link potato ... i just did a clean install (84.22 drivers) and it boosted my COD 2 framerates tramendously... i used to get between 20 and 30 fps on 4X AA and Antrioscopic filtering medium lights , world only smoke effects and low body count at 1024 x 720 now i get between 35 - 45 with everything but the resolution cranked up.... BTW don't update COD 2 ... i tried 1.2 and it screwed up my FPS at the wierdest times (be running smooth during intense battles and then start stuttering when no enemies where on the screen)

Well, since the last driver I used was 77.62, I upgraded to 84.25 last night. However, I've noticed a decrease in FPS while playing Battlefield 2. Could this be BF2 being picky about drivers, or could the fact that I simply upgraded and didn't do a clean install be responsible?
