Crackling Sounds from the HD

I just started hearing some crackling sounds from my hard drive, I don't know if this is normal or if this is good or bad. Sometimes when I don't even use it, I could still hear some crackling sounds. It's not loud, but I think it's annoying. I defragmented all of the drives, and I still have the problem. Is this normal?

thanx
