Actually, it's not so much a matter of "if" ... as I'm sure it will, but more a matter of will Windows XP work faster or will Windows Vista work "faster".

My configuration is:

Yes but some parts will not work yet. First thing is the Promise Controller drivers. Put the WinXP version in the root directory on the floppy. Realtek soundcard does not work. The WinXP drivers install but after reboot you get an error so no sound. After installing go to Windows Update and install all the optional drivers except for Smartlink if you had the BSOD when installing KB888111 with Realtek Drivers. Vista appears to have KB888111 built in.

thanks 'puter tater ... but I don't have Vista beta yet ... just was an idle question. hopefully by the time it's ready for the "public" they will have the issues you mentioned resolved.

I take it YOU however have installed Vista beta on your system? yes? If so, how does it run? slower? faster? any impressions you care to share with us lowly serfs

I accidently had the great "privilege" and "luck" to install the newest beta onto my
D900T, and all I can say is that I´m sorry for the time I spent. This thing simply is not fitted for D900T yet, forget it. Everything is so slow and buggy it is a pain. We will see when Vista will be released and then we can judge.

Well it runs pretty fast for a beta but the biggest problem is no sound. The video card could handle the new Aero effects but there are no laptop *.inf fixes that will work so far so the Desktop versions will not install. Going to windows update and installing the basic Nvidia drivers is a must and then the Coolbits reg file will work if you try overclocking. But to make this short it is still very buggy and a lot of WinXP 32bit apps won't install. The public beta should be out by the end of April. I hope it's much improved. The public beta1 and beta2 of WinXP functioned much better as far as bugs and usefulness.

Pretty fast ? Only installation took hours here, no kidding.
It lasted about 8 hours for me until I could start do something with this OS. There had been many reboots before and each one was so unbelievable slow. It was a pure horror show.

It only 45 min for me. Although it did take 3 installs before I knew what not to mess with. I'm not sure why but bootup is slow sometimes and sometimes fast. I wait at least 5 min after I login before trying to do anything. If something hangs and I try to restart, it can take 15 mins before it actually reboots. I got tired of waiting and just turm it off with the 5 sec holding down the power button. The longer I use it the more it works better but still is quite buggy.

I plan to install Windows Vista Ultimate on my Sager NP9860 but noticed that your
support site does not offer any drivers for this operating system. Do you have plans
to release Windows Vista Drivers for the NP9860 / D900T notebook? If so, when will
they be available?

Also, will Vista install properly on the NP9860 notebook (using the built in Vista drivers)?
