Don't be a dick achilles.

Alahel - Read back a couple pages- you probably flashed the wrong revision.

Fortunately, your computer is most likely fine.

Unfortunately, you will have to try and flash your laptop with the other revision (791GSUNV.ROM) blindly like I did. Try and emulate the keystrokes you did before. It is difficult, but I am sure you will do fine.

Let me know how you make out,

lol, I guess you're feeling the pain as you did crying for help like a little baby rather than reading. I guess you did all that blind flashing yourself huh? Being a dick here is just ignoring posts like this, and I did point you/and others to the right direction. Your welcome LinsayCole, your welcome.

KSMB has a few people on his/her side.
(first of all, burn the ISO on a CD-R disc, use Nero (Image function. dont forgett to check "CD")
http://home.tele2.es/jlgm/peng.html

Blind Flash;

1. start the computer with the ISO CD-R.

2. press F12 after 3-4 sek _______(tested my self, took me ~3-4 sek, from pure start.(reboot take longer of course))

3. press one time down (with the "down-arrow key") and press enter

4. (type the right flash); nvflash 791gsunv.rom___________(Rev.1)

5. press enter

6. press Y ___________(wait 20 sek, to be sure the flash has been updated)

7. restart the computer____________ (manual)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

edit. if you dont succeed, do it one more time (cant get any worse, he he), sometimes this 3-4 sek after you start your computer can be 4-5 sek or 2-3 sek. just do it until you succeed.

edit again. at step 4, you can also flash to your original VBIOS. for Rev.1 its; nvflash 791gsnnn.rom,
can sometimes works better. then reflash to your overclock flash.

Actually Achilles, ganzonomy helped me from start to finish. Thanks for coming out- but I am not letting anyone else take credit for the work he put in.

Yes I do feel his pain, I thought I bricked my laptop. Am I going to read a 56 page thread? No. I skimmed it. And I missed that part. And I have yet to find a part (no, I am not going to re-read this thread) that specifies this until the past few pages.

You are being a dick when you are not willing to help. If you aren't going to help- don't post. It is a pretty simple concept actually.

by the way, you really dont have to read all 56 pages. on Juanlus website (there you get the ISO-flash),
its stands clearly (with BIG red letters). IMPORTANT....Rev.0 is for VBIOS version.........and Rev.1 is for VBIOS version............
its fairly hard to miss. he he

Like I said I did point you and ganzo (if you read the damn thread, you would know) to the right direction. This ain't no dog on tech support forum, but people do actually help out by giving you where to look. Don't expect people to friggin spoon feed you like a baby, and give a reading a try.

You can use the regular unlocked 7800go bios on it or you can use the unlocked 7800GTX bios on it...doesnt matter
Not besides using the -4 -5 -6 flags to flash the bios that is

Hi!

First of all I like to show you my appreciation for this great thread - good work! (especially mr juan!)

But as you can see, this is my first reply in this forum due so a problem with my videocard which is not yet given attention to.

I'm pretty sure you can help me, so here's my little "performanceproblem":

How is it possible to other people so get such highscores in 3dMark05/06?
I'm using the DELL Inspiron 9400 with the 256 MB go 7900 GS rev 0 successfully modded with the "790GSUOV.ROM"-BIOS and running at 550/800.

With Forceware 92.77 (default settings) I get the following 3DMark results under XP:

3DMark03 ~ 17000 (good result in my eyes regarding the 12000 points without the modification)
3DMark05 ~ 6000 !!!

I read that the highscore with an overclocked go 7900 gs is above 9000!
So why can't I score? Is it due to the cpu-tests in 3DMark05 or what?

Please give me advice! Thanx.

6000 is pretty low but without knowing what your specs are like we couldnt tell you. Where did you get the driver from by the way?

sorry, what do you mean with "specs"? I'm from germany, so...

the driver is originally from dell, but i found it on http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/...howtopic=12177

strangely the official dell drivers are the only ones allowing rivatuner to set custom clocks. every other (newer) driver I tried from laptopvideo2go are not working correctly in this way that the standard clocks 375/550 are set automatically every time I try to apply my custom clocks 550/800 in rivatuner 2.01. only the older dell releases work well, but the other way round with rivatuner 2.0, the version before the current release.

its strange, i dunno...
