A205-S4639 Vista Ultimate to XP Pro SP2 conversion

After a bit of searching and installing I finally got my A205-S4639 converted from Vista Ultimate to XP Pro SP2.

The 2 big issues were the video driver ( Nvidia Go 7300 ) and the Realtek HD driver. In the archive for the drivers there are 2 key README files that pertain to both issues and proper installation for your conversion.

Keep in mind you install may very well go better than mine. I had to reinstall Windows XP SP2 stripped ( using nlite ) the 2nd time around due to the horrible audio stuttering after the 1st install, on any sort of playback with audio. I never did figure out what caused the issue the 1st time around with a full install, only that I fixed it with the 2nd install.

The video driver is not the most current but it is stable and it's not a beta driver. It comes from an earlier model Toshiba Laptop. I am sure with a bit more hunting you can find the most current driver ( use driver detective or driver tracker to find it ). A huge thanks goes out to the Toshiba support forum over in Europe where I found most of the links that eventually led me to the files in the archive.

The files are in 7Z format, so you'll need it or Winrar 3.0 or better to extract them.

go here for the drivers

and here for the Toshiba XP utilities

happy computing

Thanks I have a Toshiba A205-4587. Your driver compilation made my switch to xp much simpler. Thanks for doing the leg work. The only driver that was different for me was the graphics driver witch was easily found on the intel web site. I Have pointed some other people here for help as well. Thanks
