8890 dead fans

The twin fans that cool the processor seem to have stopped running. Is there any way to check their power connection or replace them if they've failed?

This is a motherboard problem. I know because I bought a new fan module and installed it only to find that it too didn't work. I had to send the computer in to Sager and get a motherboard. It wasn't all that expensive, call them and check it out.

Thanks for the info. I'm currently trying to decide if I'm going to get this fixed or buy a new machine.

Well, you can probably get a faster machine for about $750 US but you won't get that screen. If high resolution is important, get it fixed. If you want to get a new computer and don't care about screen res get a new cheap faster laptop.

I got it from Sager a couple years ago. They may or may not have more of them I don't really know. There is a phone number on this site for their tech support people.
