Win 98 (old but not forgotton)

I was a tad bored so I thought - why not try win 98 on my dell 9400 on my spare HDD. So formatted the drive installed windows and it crashes on start-up saying there is not enough memory!!!

I started it in DOS and entered mem which shows my 2gig but as extended memory and only 650kb available. Note sure what's wrong here so all you old blokes who have played in 98 - what gives????

my laptop's to modern for 98!!
