hooking up computer speaker system to game console

I don't know if you all could help me but this seemed like the best place to post my thread. I have a Dell 2405FPW and the Logitech 5500 5.1 speaker system. My screen has necessary input jacks to plug the RCA yellow cable (video) from my Xbox into my screen, however i am lost on how to plug in the audio cables (red and white) to my speaker system. The 5500 speaker system has 3 inputs - direct, coaxial, and optical. Is there any kind of cable that could convert the audio RCA cables to any of these 3 input jacks? THANKS in advance to anyone that can help me

Problem solved

Oh, your xbox is gonna have a little "button press" to "action on the screen" lag time on the Dell. I was playing Super Smash bros melee on the gamecube hooked up to the 2405, and I could feel a tiny bit of lagtime. A little bit annoying, but nothing too big.

No problem. I actually bought some refurbed Logitech x-530's recently, and it came with that adapter.

I've got the same setup. However I wanted to leave my speakers connected to my pc as well so I simply used an optical cable for the audio from the 360. Now I just switch input's on the 5500s whenever i want to play.

Yeah, aftermath has the answer... Get the Xbox upgraded connector cable with SPDIF(coaxial or optical) connector and connect straight to your subwoofer. You will get true Dolby Digital and your games will never sound better!

I'm using that right now. I have 5.1 old altechlansing speakers but too bad it doesn't have volume or any Sub treble.. button to control So I have to connect to my TV Lineout to control it. Overall, it's perfect. I would find an old AMp or EQ to hook with my Xbox though.

Anyone know where I can get one of these?

Also, I'm only going to order it online if I absolutely need to(amazon has them in stock), because it donesn't feel righ to spend 4 times the amount of shipping as on the product.

The price jack up is only to be expected of a discontinued item. What I don't understand is how they can be sold for 4 dollars on amazon, with 7 dollar 3 day shipping that would have taken 5-9 days to ship.

It's not like this piece actually converts your RCA jacks in to real 5.1, hell, I could solder a few pieces together and make this myself.

Thanks for the help guys.

Haven't looked at the part, but I would assume it also has a passive crossover in it for the LFE channel and the other channels to prevent the wrong signal from being sent to each channel. If it doesn't then it should and I wouldn't use it.
