Vista - Screen Flickering/Jumping/Shifting/Sweeping/Rolling please help!!!
Hey,
I've been searching for a solution for a long time now, and can't seem to find it anywhere. The problem is that Vista make the display shift from side to side like crazy, it seems that the screen moves to the right and then shows up on the left side, and this is happening very fast, sort of this looping effect. I have a Dell Inspiron 640 m, I've tried updating the drivers for everything, and I cannot recreate the problem myself, it just happens spontaneously. Any help would be much appreciated! thanks guys cheers |

The first thing I would try is checking/reseating the screen to motherboard connection plug as that would be the simplest thing to do,are you using the latest bios available on dells website.
I guess if your convinced it is a OS/software problem you don't have much of a choice but to do a clean install,at least then you will know if its definitely software. What about running the dell diagnostics when its playing up.
